Fredfades er ikke noe nytt navn hverken her på huset, eller hos de andre klubbene rundt i byen. Han spiller jevnlig hos oss på BLÅ sammen med resten av gjengen i Mutual Intentions med sin faste klubbkveld “Mutual Klubb”.  Fredfades blir å finne bak spakene på BLÅ igjen lørdag 28 mai, etter endt ‘han gaiden’ (Mutual Intentions) releasekonsert.

Med seg på laget har han ingen mindre enn DJ D.Dee som driver plateselskapet Pacific Rhythm, og har et av de meste spennende og eklektiske showene på Gilles Peterson sin Worldwide FM radiokanal.

DJ D.DEE

DJ D.DEE aka Derek Duncan is the founder of Pacific Rhythm, a record label and events company that has become synonymous with the laid back and uplifting sound Canada’s West Coast has become recognized globally for. Over the past 8 years, D.DEE’s work with Pacific Rhythm has helped bring music from Canadian artists including Space Ghost, Khotin, D. Tiffany, Active Surplus, Ex-Terrestrial, Unknown Mobile, Jesse Futerman, Beverly Glenn-Copeland and many more to sound systems across the planet.

In addition to operating Pacific Rhythm, D.DEE is also a resident DJ at Public Records in New York City, Paradise in Vancouver, and hosts a monthly radio show called Pacific Spirit on Gilles Peterson’s London based radio station Worldwide FM. His DJ style aims to shine a light on lesser-known sounds from around the world with a focus on life-affirming selections for a failsafe, feel-good evening on the dance floor or wherever else you may choose to listen.

FREDFADES

Fredfades extensive record collection habits, his production and DJ skills has made him a formidable force in Europe, with a legend preceding him wherever he goes, from the listening bars in Japan to serious underground club bunkers across Europe and Australia. His DJ sets includes everything from 7” Boogie rarities to undiscovered gems of ‘90s era House music. Conducting dance floors or old samplers and synthsizers, where delicate soulful touches counterpoint rigid mechanical rhythms, Fredfades is a versatile figure in both the studio and the DJ booth, where he’s serving funkified Disco and Soul or Eurocentric House and Techno. There aren’t many dance floors Fredfades isn’t able to accommodate.

Fredfades previously had residency at the world renown Jaeger Club in Oslo, as well as been playing loads of clubs and hi-fi bars around Europe, had tours in both Australia and Japan. He did the first ever Norwegian Boiler Room together with his crew Mutual Intentions, and also did another Boiler Room in Oslo for Jaeger a few years after.

Remarked as one of the worlds biggest collectors of private and underground house, techno, disco, modern soul and jazz records, Fred has been invited to share stages with people like Jeremy Underground, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Byron The Aquarius, Skatebård, Fett Burger, Telephones, Robert Owens, Bjørn Torske, Tom Noble, Kaytranada, Cashmere Cat, Peanut Butter Wolf, Dam-Funk, Diamond D, Pete Rock, D-Train, Hugo LX, Red Greg, Zaf +++ and also been asked to do mixes for Discogs, Louise Chen, MCDE, Stamp The Wax, NTS, Worldwide FM, Dublab +++
