J. Ludvig III

Blå: Welcome, J. Ludvig III! Let’s start by talking about your music. How would you define your sound?

J. Ludvig III: Thank you for having me! I’d describe my sound as a mix of alternative pop, folk, and a touch of electronic influences. My music is often very personal, drawing from experiences and observations, and I like to create an emotional connection through storytelling. It’s reflective and introspective but with a lot of feeling behind it.

Blå: Liveurope is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, and the platform is nearing 5,000 concerts supported since 2014. Do you have a message to share to celebrate this milestone?

J. Ludvig III: That’s a huge achievement! Congratulations to Liveurope and everyone involved. Supporting emerging artists is so important, especially for those of us trying to build an audience across borders. Liveurope is doing an amazing job making that possible, and it’s really great to see how many concerts they’ve supported over the years. Here’s to 10 more years of bringing artists and audiences together!

Blå: As an artist based in Denmark, what types of challenges are you facing when it comes to exporting your music and touring?

J. Ludvig III: One of the biggest challenges is just finding the right platforms to get my music out to new audiences. Touring abroad takes a lot of resources, and sometimes it’s hard to make all the logistics work. It’s also about building networks in different countries, which takes time. Support from initiatives like Liveurope makes a huge difference in making this possible.

Blå: How important is it for artists to receive support to bring their show and music to new audiences abroad?

J. Ludvig III: It’s incredibly important. Without support, it’s tough to get your foot in the door in new places. Touring is how you really connect with fans on a deeper level. When you’re able to bring your show to different countries, it opens up so many opportunities.

Blå: How have you been liking the city so far?

J. Ludvig III: It’s been great! I love the vibe here. You can tell there’s a real passion for music and culture, and that makes it even more exciting to be part of the experience. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing more of the city while I’m here.

Blå: What are you most excited to play on this stage tonight?

J. Ludvig III: Honestly, it’s fantastic to be able to participate in a festival like By:larm. It’s such an important event for showcasing new talent, and the atmosphere is so inspiring. I’m excited to share my music with a new audience, and it’s a great opportunity to connect with other artists and people in the industry. Playing at By:larm

is definitely a highlight for me!
